INTRODUCTION: This position reports to Quality Control Manager. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.
QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR – plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of Quality Control work. Performs work that involves conventional part layout, process auditing, and supplier part inspection. Performs a variety of assigned Quality Assurance functions.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:
- Plan and layout inspection methods and procedures.
- Makes gauge setups and adapts inspection equipment and fixtures as necessary.
- Performs first piece, audits, and /or 100% inspection of various in-process and/or purchased material, parts or products.
- Communicates non-conformities with manufacturing lead men and supervisors.
- Performs S.P.C. as required.
- Operate in compliance with Basic Processes and Work Instructions.
- Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated, but which may be assigned and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with measuring devices (i.e. calipers, height gauge, etc.) is preferred.
- Microsoft Excel experience is preferred.
- Good communication and math skills desired.
- Ability to gain knowledge of products, market requirements, customer requirements and industry.
- Ability to gain knowledge of company products. Comply with quality, environmental, safety and JOST company policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work is generally performed in a production plant 100% of time
- While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly; stand, walk, reach, bend, twist and occasionally will be required to stoop, kneel, lift, pull or move objects of 50 pounds or less with or without assistance.
