We are looking for a responsible Quality Inspector to check the quality of incoming and outgoing material and products as well as production procedures. You will be a firm advocate of quality in our business. The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. In depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards is preferred. Background check and drug screen prior to hire.
Summary: Responsible for quality of incoming components, assembly audits, proper documentation, testing, First Piece, In-process, and Final Inspection where applicable. Maintains and enforces adherence to meet the requirements of the Quality Management System as well as the Marine Equipment Directive (MED) and the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform inspection of purchased parts and assemblies to drawings, illustrations and specifications.
- Conduct First Piece Inspection of in-process and final products to include required testing.
- Process all necessary reports and certifications for both rejected and accepted materials.
- Generate NCR reports and maintains log as they relate to subcontractors and internal processes.
- Read, understand, interpret, and follow written procedures.
- Interpret drawings and apply proper gaging techniques to measure drawing dimensions such as micrometer, thread gages, hole gages and pin gages.
