Quality Control Associate
Sample Preparation Technicians are responsible for the calibration/verification and operation of smoking machines and other laboratory equipment. He/she should be familiar with project requirements and the correct set-up for smoking according to those details. The SP Technician is also responsible for the preparation of solutions to be used during smoking, preparation of impingers, ice baths and other glassware and equipment where applicable. Sample Preparation Technicians are responsible for ensuring that all applicable equipment is verified/calibrated prior to use, and for preparing samples in compliance with published SOP’s and Test Methods. A SP Technician is responsible for recording raw data promptly and accurately and in compliance with the quality system and is responsible for the quality of the data.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review raw data to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure analysts are working in compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Provide guidance and technical support to analysts.
- Communicate with Client Services and clients as required, regarding client inquiries and help in resolution of issues.
- Investigate out of specification (OOS), results, deviations, and non-conformances.
- Communicate and coordinate with the Quality documentation team on documentation needs for the site.
- Coordinate records management including document retention and disposal.
- Adhere to regulatory guidelines including ISO17025 and others as defined.
- Maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient workspace.
- The employee shall implement the Laboratory Quality Policy and perform their duties in accordance with existing project specific requirements, current Test Methods, Projects/Study Plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Compliance to Health & Safety policies and procedures and wear required Personal Protective equipment at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements:
- 1 year quality assurance experience
- Preferred but not required technical laboratory experience
- Experience working in an accredited laboratory environment is an asset
- Organize workload to complete daily duties according to deadlines.
