Job Summary

The Quality Control Coordinator is responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system for all Allied Valve locations, including IA, IL, MN, ND and WI.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Annual technicians' audits
  • Assistance with quality system internal audits for PRD, Line Valves, Control Valves, and MOVs.
  • Specific training session
  • Verify gauge control and calibrations are done when scheduled.
  • Performs in-process quality inspections during assembly to determine if the product meets approved requirements.
  • Assisted with nonconformity activities for PRD, line valves, control valves, and MOVs.
  • Identifies and addresses quality defects in the process in a timely manner to reduce the opportunity for repeated failures. This position will have the authority to stop the line in the event of an elevated defect rate under the guidance of the Director of Quality Control.
  • Records in-process quality inspections to determine acceptance of materials from manufacturer or vendor.
  • Provides internal and external customer support for CSRs, often acting as the SME of quality.
  • Tracks the number of defects identified during the inspection.
  • Identify opportunities for continual improvement based on the data collected.
  • Partners with General Managers and Shop Supervisors for line opening and line closing activities.
  • Assists management and site with revision of departmental processes to ensure continual improvement.
  • Verification of ASME code compliance.
  • Responsible representative for ASME certification.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
  • Must be willing to travel to other shop locations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in quality assurance or Quality Control is preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing experience and oil/gas industry
  • Familiar with inspection principles and concepts.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with personnel at all levels in a professional manner.
  • Function in a team environment and receive direction and guidance from a supervisor with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented and has the ability to lead multiple assigned activities.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications is required.

Preferred Experience & Aptitude:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Normal manufacturing environment.
  • Position may require frequent communication and walking to other areas in which designated PPE will be required.
  • The position will require sitting and standing.

Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
