Quality Control Technician - Ayer, MA

Marathon is actively seeking qualified individuals for the position of Quality Control Technician in Ayer, MA!

Responsibilities:

As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring overall quality and food safety in assigned areas. Reporting directly to the QA Supervisor, your responsibilities include:

• Daily monitoring and verification tasks outlined in the HACCP program.
• Performing micro testing to ensure finished and in-process products are free of harmful bacteria.
• Conducting raw material testing to guarantee acceptability for production.
• Performing daily production line checks to maintain product quality integrity.
• Reviewing and verifying batch records, logbooks, and quality documentation for completion and regulatory compliance.
• Conducting product releases.
• Evaluating collected data and preparing reports using computer systems.
• Performing environmental monitoring swabs and ATP hygiene monitoring swabs on equipment.
• Conducting quality audits of the manufacturing process, including GMP and hygiene monitoring.
• Participating in food safety and internal/external audits.
• Identifying and promptly communicating quality issues to the Quality Manager.
• Completing on-hold logs, reports, and stickers to secure product/material on "Hold."

Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of microbiology, QA, and QC.
• Capability to handle physical demands typical of a food laboratory and microbiology lab.
• Comfort working with various ingredients, spices, and food components, including meat, nuts, dairy, soy, eggs, etc.
• Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong listening and organizational skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Education & Experience:

• 0-2 years of work experience in Quality Assurance/Control/Microbiology in a GMP environment.
• Experience in HACCP/SQF environment is a plus.

Shifts Available:

• 1st Shift: 6 AM - 2:30 PM ($18.75/hr)
• 2nd Shift: 2 PM - 10:30 PM ($19.75/hr)
• 3rd Shift: 10 PM - 6:30 AM ($21.75/hr)
