How will you make an impact?
The Quality Assurance Specialist will help maintain and grow the TSS' quality management system (QMS) in support of our Life Science Services business. The basic function of the Quality Assurance Specialist is to prevent defects in TSS services and products by maintaining and improving the supplier quality portion of TSS' quality management system. The Quality Assurance Specialist will be a key team member in supporting other TSS departments and offices with technical advice regarding suppliers will use common industry tools and techniques for handling customer complaints, Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA), and data trending/analysis.
What will you do?
- Investigation of customer complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications, and delivered level of quality.
- Improves the quality of services provided by the external suppliers to TSS.
- Evaluate TSS' Quality Management System (QMS) outsourced processes.
- Visit as needed and confer with representatives of critical material, service, and component vendors to obtain information related to supply quality, capacity of vendor to meet orders, and vendor quality standards.
- Suggest and debate alternative methods and procedures in solving field service problems and meeting changing market opportunities.
- Review technical problems and procedures and recommend solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
- Negotiate and execute technical Quality Agreements and Change Control Agreements with suppliers
- Support maintenance of monitoring reports designed for the selection, evaluation, and removal of suppliers from the Approved Supplier List (ASL) to assure the quality and reliability of the products they supply.
- Manage supplier issues and conducts, when necessary, supplier audits.
- Support third party and internal audits
- Additional responsibilities as assigned

How will you get here?
Education and Experience
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. 2-year or 4-year degree in Business or Science field preferred.
- Requires 1 - 3 years of experience in working in an ISO 9001 service company. Field service or Laboratory experience is preferred.
- A combination of education, training and related experience may meet requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn new systems and services.
- Ability to work effectively under limited supervision by employing effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to learn and effectively use multiple software systems including the MS Office suite.
- Ability to quickly learn and train others on the use of QA and other software systems.
