Job Description
This role will support the Installation Support Services (ISS2) contract on Eareckson Air Station (EAS). This is a rotational position in which the selected employee will work a schedule with 3 months on shift at a time, 1 month off, at Earackson Air Station (EAS), located in Sheyma, AK. While working on-site housing is provided in the form of a dormitory facility. All meals are furnished through the cafeteria. Transportation to EAS from Anchorage, AK is provided by government sponsored aircraft.
Job Summary
Serves as a Quality Assurance Specialist at Eareckson Air Station, whose technical expertise and knowledge of quality systems will support the ISS2 Quality Program. This position will support the ISS2 GL contract to optimize execution by ensuring services meet the established standards of quality, including reliability, usability, and performance.
This role involves working with additional members of the Quality Assurance team, developing and implementing quality control procedures, and collaborating with other departments to improve product and service quality.
Provides specialized technical expertise in support of the Quality Program, including specialized inspection and testing techniques, quality training, statistical methods, audits, and quality tools for problem-solving and assessment. Creates inspection reports stating the conditions of a work area to ensure requirements are met. Makes recommendations for corrective action.
Applies knowledge of quality systems and tools to validate and verify contractually required standards for project execution. Implementing principles of performance evaluation and prediction methods is used to improve product systems' safety, reliability, and maintainability. Responsible for maintaining a quality standard of products and the procedures and materials that go into the work scope. Aligns the quality management function with the performance needs of product lines. Under strict supervision, develop skills and knowledge to determine a new degree of conformance of products to specifications.
Performs inspections of various operations activities. Prepare nonconformity reports (NCR). Perform follow-up audits on corrective actions (CAPAs) in USG and ASRCC. Generates reports of conditions found during inspection activities; notifies the Quality Manager of significant problems; Assists in documentation to attest to the satisfactory completion of inspection or test activities. Perform advanced-level inspections of material received from vendors if needed. Conduct in-process and finished product inspections of large or complex projects. Take the lead in vendor site inspections of work in the fabrication and/or repair of parts and materials procured to support operations of the ISS2 contract.
Applicable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
  • Performs duties associated with the administration of the Quality Assurance provisions of contracts by designing, implementing, and maintaining a risk-based surveillance program and assessment plan.
  • Ensures contractor compliance with all requirements related to the design, manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and modernization of a variety of items for contractor and customer activities throughout the ISS2 locations.
  • Must collaborate with a team of Quality Assurance Specialists, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective quality control processes.
  • Must have the ability to conduct comprehensive inspections of activities across the program in all functional areas to ensure.
    • Compliance with documented procedures, work instructions, work orders, and service orders to ensure contract compliance to the letter without deviation.
    • Identify deficiencies in the quality of workmanship to initiate and follow up on corrective actions taken to resolve deficiencies.
    • Assist in the creation of standard operating procedures and work instructions.
    • Assist in validating all requirements contained within the ISS2 PWS.
  • Obtain a thorough understanding of external policies, regulations, and standards of workmanship applicable to assigned areas of responsibility and a basic understanding of such for all functional areas, even if not assigned.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with work instructions, subcontractor statements of work, ISS2 performance work statements, time card audits, and technical data package requirements for all functional areas of the program.
  • Reads and understands detailed drawings, procedures, and internal process documentation.
  • Develop quality inspection checklists.
  • Keep appropriate personnel and supervision appraised of work progress, including problems and accomplishments.
  • Conduct day-to-day responsibilities in a highly professional manner and with a high degree of integrity.
  • Required to interface with project personnel, project management, and customers as a representative of the Quality Department
  • Must be capable of working professionally and building positive working relationships with internal and external entities.
  • Performs various other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
    • Two to four years of combined quality, auditing, inspection, and maintenance experience.
    • Two yearsof supervisory or leadership experience.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
    • Certifications are a plus, including ASQ, Lean, ISO, Six Sigma, Project Management Professional, etc.
    • Experience implementing corrective and preventive maintenance programs.
    • In-depth knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies of Quality Management.
    • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio).
