Form of workQuality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) Registered Nurse (RN)
The QAPI Nurse will be clinically competent in long term care and skilled nursing care, professional, and a licensed Registered Nurse who uses the nursing process to reduce risk and develop interventions to prevent resident incidents from occurring. QAPI RN assists in the development, evaluation and implementation of the Quality Assurance and Assessment Program, QAPI Program and projects, Department of Health Plans of Corrections and restorative nursing programs.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the QAPI program including to collect and analyze Quality Assurance Performance Improvement data.
- QAPI RN develops and leads interdisciplinary teams to implements Performance Improvement Projects (PIPs).
- Oversee the restorative program
- In order the have the necessary knowledge and skills cross training to the Shift Supervisor (RN) position is a requirement Knowing how to serve as a Unit Supervisor in the administration of medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and using the electronic health record is a requirement of this position
- Orient and train new staff members on policies and procedures as well as care of the residents
- Complete annual performance appraisals for RN/LPN/Nursing Assistants/Circulation Clerks/Unit Clerk as assigned
- Gives thorough, concise nursing reports regarding the restorative programs, Quality Assurance and assessment programs, QAPI programs, bowel and bladder programs and other programs that may be assigned
- Serve as the electronic medical records point person for facilitating training of nursing staff, providing training when new computer procedures are developed and resolving issues that arise from the Medical Records software use at St. Anne Home.
- Provide annual continuing educational programs for staff as required by the state, federal and local agencies to maintain compliance with licensure
- Participate and assist in ensuring compliance with surveyor pathways used by State and Federal surveyors to prevent various F-TAG being cited.
- Supervises resident care and when there is a need provides resident care.
- Participates in Care Plan Meetings as needed depending on the specific issue of concern
- Participates in Fall Prevention Programs
- Transcribes/carries out physician’s orders
- Ensure the nursing restorative program meets the state and federal regulations
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (Unencumbered license)
- Minimum two years’ experience in nursing with at least one of those years in long-term care
