Position Summary
The function of this position is to monitor production flow to ensure that quality standards are being met. A series of tests are performed on the product to ensure that the product meets established standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect product samples and prepare them for laboratory analysis or testing.
- Sort non-retained samples by color and take to grinder.
- Enter weights, rates and quality data in computer.
- Maintain sample room storage.
- Perform quality checks on extrusion lines.
- Retrieve all necessary data for production documentation.
- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form (email) or in person.
- Retain samples of product returned by customers for CCR meeting.
- Audit QA drawings and data point lists for errors or wear, update when necessary.
- Generate and update QC checklists for drawings.
- Maintain a list of all parts and which customer they belong to, update books when necessary.
- Assist in investigation of CCR's and sorting product.
- Analyze information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Quality inspection experience.
- Education and Certifications: High School Diploma or equivalent

- Understanding of QA processes; QA lab and its operation.
- Knowledge of calipers, tape measure and square; their use, limitations, maintenance and proper storage.
- Ability to accurately judge tolerance and parameters needed to attain and maintain product specifications.
- Mechanical skills and judgment needed to maintain operation within specs, making the correct adjustments and detecting malfunctions
- Basic data entry skills.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, resourceful and a positive attitude.
- Work all scheduled shifts including overtime assignments unless on excused absence.
- Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms and talk and hear.
- Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and climb or balance.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
