The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the managerial direction and overall leadership of the Quality department. This includes supporting and executing business strategy, delivering winning solutions, developing high performance teams, and promoting the Burns & McDonnell culture, values, and mission in working closely with project teams and procurement professionals to develop and implement planned and systematic activities to ensure the quality requirements for a product or service will be fulfilled. The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the department in a dynamic and profitable manner based on Burns & McDonnell's core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety and overall outstanding service.
Monitor all quality related activities on the project.
Daily review submitted Material Placement Notifications
- Review against specifications to make sure the correct materials have been ordered.
- Schedule QA testing by sub consultants
Pre-review the materials component of contractor's submittals
Verify the contractor's QC plans meet specifications.
- Review QC inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements
- Verify contractor is following the QC plan.
- Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system.
- Recommend improvements when required.
Attend client's weekly QC/QA management meetings.
- Stay informed of corridor or regional issues that may affect the availability or quality of delivered materials.
- Stay informed of the client's statewide material memos.
Monitor the disposition of all nonconformance reports.
Coordinate all QC/QA activities with the site Resident Engineer
Coordinate QC/QA correspondence with the client's representatives.
Monitor statistical method testing and reporting.
- Generate random testing locations when required.
Control all material documentation.
- Maintain all documentation uploaded to the customers database.
- Certify bi-weekly contractor pay estimates.
- Generate disposition responses to owner's audits.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, business, construction, procurement or related degree from an accredited program and 7 years relevant consulting experience required.
- Master's degree MBA preferred
- Expert experience in investigating, evaluating, selecting, and driving the development of products for an organization.
- Expert facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience having led and completed projects from business proposal through post-production support preferred.
- Demonstrated success as to budget, savings and/or profit margins in completed projects.
- Ability to filter and distill relevant information and convey business and technical concepts to a diverse client base and internal technical teams.
- Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead and manage.
- Excellent planning and analytical skills.
- Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
- Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and tools including the use of Microsoft Project or equivalent.
