The Quality Manager is responsible for safeguarding product safety and quality while meeting Company and regulatory standards, and has oversight responsibility for a continuous quality improvement program that includes quality control and Quality Assurance. This person is responsible for ensuring that the production and distribution of products meets or exceeds all quality standards. This person also has responsibility for communicating quality results and the transfer of quality and QA knowledge to the workforce.
How you will make contributions that matter...

  • Provide advice and assistance when problems or questions about the job or departmental operations arise; demonstrates excellent performance in the execution of duties and responsibilities.
  • Carries out management responsibilities for Quality Assurance department in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring and training of employees; planning and assigning work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Assists Quality Assurance team as needed to manage the departmental activities. Coordinates with other departments, suppliers and external customers on quality results, issues and requirements.
  • Acts as onsite ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000 expert
  • Maintains HACCP programs
  • Maintains Organic certification
  • Ensures FSMA compliance
  • Maintains PRPs and OPRPs
  • Ensures PMO compliance
  • Grade A experience
  • Maintains Kosher program
  • Coordinates with other departments, suppliers and external customers on quality results, issues and requirements.
  • Manages, writes and maintains all customer specifications.
  • Reviews in-line Quality Assurance reports, production reports, testing reports and other departmental reports.
  • Organizes internal audits and prepares for external audits.
  • Coordinates product release and Certificate of Compliance and Analysis for customers.
  • Manages the incoming material control program.
  • Manages the QA Hold program of raw materials, production rejects, and customer returns.
  • Assists in investigating and resolving customer complaints.
  • Conducts Root Cause Analysis for quality or food safety deviations.
  • Writes corrective action plans for RCA and deviations.
  • Monitors the sanitation program.
  • Monitors laboratory activities and supplies.
  • Attends all company and department required trainings.
  • Laboratory Supervision and scheduling of laboratory personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

You are best suited for the role if you have.....
  • Bachelor's degree in a science-based area of study and a minimum of 3-years of supervisory level experience, leading others, preferred.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of sanitation systems, techniques and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Possesses understanding of the basics of change management.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.
  • Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • Ability to select, coach, develop, engage and retain a team of employees.
