South Valley Farms is seeking a highly capable Quality Assurance Lead to assist management with all Quality Assurance and quality control functions at the almond processing and production operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee a high-performing team and provide training on requirements of applicable regulations USDA, DFA, GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, BRC etc.
- Ensure team’s adherence to all safety and food safety requirements in the processing and production plants; document and report any issues/concerns.
- Monitor and perform quality testing, release checks, product grading accuracy.
- Track inventory to ensure data accuracy and report any deviations.
- Become knowledgeable of the product and the customer’s quality expectations.
- Maintain and file all paperwork related to data collection of food safety logs, raw receiving records, Kiptraq, maintenance records, incoming raw product, and outgoing finished goods.
- Provide documentation of CCPs, pre-pack checklists, root cause analysis and all corrective actions.
- Serve as a member of the investigation team to help identify issues with product quality and specifications.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma of GED equivalent. Advanced education preferred.
- 3+ years working in food processing, with experience and knowledge of QA, quality control, and food safety procedures.
- Experience in a lead role, mechanical aptitude, and processing nuts highly desired.
- Knowledge of Total Quality Management (TQM), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPS), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Computer competency with data entry and word processing.
- Strong interpersonal, problem solving, multi-tasking, organizational skills, and communication skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
