Role Purpose Statement
We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Quality Assurance Intern to join our team at LSG Sky Chefs. This internship offers an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the airline catering industry, specifically in quality control and food safety practices. The ideal candidate will have a passion for ensuring the highest standards of product quality and safety.
Main Accountabilities
- Work closely with our Quality Assurance team to perform inspections and audits of food production processes, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collect and analyze data related to food quality, safety incidents, and compliance metrics. Assist in generating reports and identifying areas for improvement.
- Participate in product testing and sensory evaluations to assess taste, texture, appearance, and overall quality of food items.
- Support the maintenance of documentation related to Quality Assurance procedures, including SOPs, HACCP plans, and food safety records.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training programs for production staff on quality control processes, hygiene practices, and food safety protocols.
- Contribute to ongoing initiatives to enhance Quality Assurance processes, optimize efficiency, and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with various departments including production, procurement, and maintenance to address quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Food Science, Nutrition, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate occasional weekend or evening work, as needed.
