Job Description
Under the direction of the Quality | Production Manager, the Inspector is responsible for the inspections of parts machined in-house to the print specifications furnished by engineering.
Responsibilities
· Utilize current Engineering Drawings to perform:
o Receiving and in process inspection of machined parts
o First piece inspections
o Inspection of engineering prototypes
· Initiate and flags nonconforming parts and products.
· Maintain required documentation
· Designate part status accordingly (accept or reject based on inspection and specifications)
· Formulating inspection plans for new parts
· Prepare inspection reports upon completing an Inspection Request
· Assist with troubleshooting of problems on manufacturing floor, inspecting and measuring parts per specification.
· Document and investigate inline rejections
· Maintain calibration database of thread gages and designated inspection tools
· Keeps measurement equipment operational by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and calling for repairs
· Communicate Quality issues internally
Requirements:Qualifications
· Minimum Associates Degree in Engineering/Industrial Technology, or equivalent experience.
· 3- 5 Years of Quality Inspection, preferably in a Manufacturing setting.
· Root Cause and Continuous Improvement based methodology application.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Data Management Systems and entry systems.
· Diagnose, troubleshoot and formulate a root cause analysis of defects received or produced.
· Able to read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, documents and manuals
· Understanding of GDT (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
· Knowledge of inspection tools including, but not limited to: calipers, micrometers, bore gages, super-mics, comparator, hardness tester, height gages and indicators, thread gages, surface plate methods, durometer gages
· Ability to use and program CMM (coordinate measuring machine)
· Experience with ISO 9001:2015 a plus
· Ability to multi-task
