The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspection of all types of precision machined parts and purchased parts, assemblies, tooling and fixtures. Works from and interpreting blueprints, technical specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities
This position is primarily responsible to:
- Reads and understands documentation such as blueprints, mechanical assemblies, part list, procedures manuals, weldments, and test procedures.
- Performs receiving, in-process and final inspection, customer sorting and related Quality Assurance tasks to maintain quality standards with supervision.
- Records inspection results and initiates nonconformance reports for defective parts and materials.
- Other technical duties as required or as assigned by higher roles.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Technical school certification in Mechanical Quality Control Techniques, or ASQ Certified Quality Inspector, or ASQ Certified Auditor
- Must possess technical aptitude, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Proficient in the use of basic inspection equipment as well as Rockwell hardness testers, positive material identification analyzers (PMI), and optical comparator inspection equipment.
- Must be able to read, understand, learn and follow written and verbal safety, quality and work instructions.

Work Environment/Conditions

- This position will require working primarily indoors in a smoke-free office and manufacturing facility but may also require the employee to be outdoors on occasion.
- This schedule includes evening and weekend hours.
- The ability to work planned and unplanned overtime.
- On-Site presence is required.
