Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures quality controls are in place and functioning in the areas of processes, purchased material, and final product quality to maintain acceptable COPQ levels
- Develops and implements quality standards and process control systems
- Assists / supports the selection of potential Suppliers and on-board training of new Suppliers
- Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements
- Carry out supplier validation audits, with supplier support and supplier advanced product quality planning (APQP).
- Work directly with supplier to facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action plans of supplier quality issues
- Perform Quality System Reviews for the internal plants and suppliers globally
- Investigates and troubleshoots product or production issues
- Utilize Lean methodology to implement and sustain process improvements
- Ensure high level of supplier performance through auditing, scorecards and other maintenance activities
- Assure communication of customer issues are received and addressed by Suppliers
- Supports application, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Business Management System (BMS)
- Initiates corrective action and/or process improvements as needed.
- Promotes safe working conditions and practices
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
