Quality Assurance Auditor

The Quality Assurance Field Auditor is responsible for representing and promoting quality through routine in-store product evaluations and discussions with store personnel to verify product specifications are met with a focus on poultry items. Information gathered will be communicated to ZFL QA Manager for further investigation, and if needed, corrective actions.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Receives direction from and reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Assurance of food and non-food product compliance with product specifications through evaluations and documentation
• Exhibit firm understanding of product specifications and ability to discuss and communicate those specifications with store management and licensees
• Effectively communicate with store management and licensees concerning quality issues
• Develop and update forms for physical evaluations
• Demonstrate independence and ability to make own schedule and coordinate times to visit stores in an efficient manner, which is also convenient and in the best interest of the store as it is related to peak traffic
• Work efficiently and effectively without direct oversight
• Work well with others
• Exercise good problem solving skills to make independent decisions on specification compliance that could affect product availability at the store level system-wide

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

Up to 75% required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Work self-sufficiently in a face-paced environment with interruptions and distractions
• Proficient computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of food safety, regulations (USDA & HACCP), and microbiology
• Business Travel will require the following:
• Ability to legally operate personal and/or business automobile
• Valid drivers license, auto insurance, and dependable transportation
• Ability to drive a company conversion van with ease
• Up to 75% local and intrastate travel for 1 - 3 nights at a time

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES

• Education: Bachelors degree in Food Science or related field
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in food-related manufacturing, restaurant operations, or food service
