QC/Certified Welding Inspector-Permanent position-MUST HAVE CWI certificate

Handling Systems and Conveyors is looking for a Quality Control Inspector/CWI to join our quality control team. In this position, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that all products meet our established requirements for reliability and workmanship, as well as other quality control program standards.

The Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) performs inspections on welded products in a fabrication environment. The CWI utilizes magnification and stress equipment to ensure the products meet specifications and quality standards according to blueprints and knowledge of welding and metallurgy.

Quality Control Inspector/CWI skills and qualifications

Quality Control Inspectors use a variety of soft skills and industry knowledge to ensure products are up to standards, including:

• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Keen attention to detail
• Basic computer and math skills to calibrate and measure specifications.
• Ability to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers, and computers.
• In-depth understanding of company standards
• Up-to-date knowledge of federal and industry standards and best practices
• Blueprint reading capabilities.
• Documentation and reporting skills
• Teamwork and collaboration
• Comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift to 50lbs.
• Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.

Experience REQ

Quality Control Inspectors should have at least a high school diploma or GED and hold a CWI Certification. These candidates should also complete on-the-job-training or have previous experience in quality control in their intended industry. Many candidates may have an associate or bachelor’s degree in a field pertaining to their industry, such as an engineering discipline, food science or health care technology. Certifications from the American Society for Quality prove that candidates understand industry regulations and standards, are familiar with best practices and are dedicated to improving quality.
