Join Barrett Paving Materials' dynamic internship program, that is crafted to educate our interns about various aspects of Quality Assurance/Quality Control in the aggregate, construction and manufacturing business; this paid internship spans from May to August, facilitating hands-on experience in QA/QC.

 

The internship program provides a unique opportunity for students to bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world experience in Quality Control. As the industry faces an increasing demand for qualified professionals, our aim is to attract top-tier candidates and contribute to the development of future leaders.

 

Compensation- $20/hour

Duration- June through August 2024

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control team to conduct testing, gradation, and quality control of aggregate, asphalt, and ready-mix products.

  • Inspect products for quality, promptly identifying and addressing any issues.

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of daily test results.

  • Analyze test results to identify and resolve nonconformities with product specifications.

  • Contribute to ongoing projects aimed at improving quality control processes.

  • Uphold the company's safety culture, by actively supporting safety initiatives.

Education

Currently enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s degree program, such as: Civil Engineering, Geology or equivalent.

Skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform mathematical calculations.

  • Effective problem-solving skills and clear communication abilities.

  • Willingness to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
