We have an opening for a QA/QC Inspector at our Houston, TX location. We are hiring multiple candidates for day/night shifts. The QA/QC Inspector is responsible for overseeing product/component quality at Phoenix and ensuring management system procedures are implemented with respect to inspection and testing.

Responsibilities also include:

• Establish and maintain the policies, procedures, and internal controls necessary to implement and enforce the inspection program.
• Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures.
• Perform quality control activities on MWD parts, motors, and other assets (i.e. orienting subs, gap subs, hang off subs, collars, etc.).
• Ensure inspection and testing activities provide continuous control of materials, facilities, and products.
• Qualify parts for use and assist with the approval of new components/tools.
• Inspect used parts and determine appropriate disposition if required.
• Document product and process issues and determine disposition of nonconforming items including necessary corrective or preventive actions.
• Verify documentation requirements relating to incoming material.
• Ensure reference documents are current and available for use (i.e. standards, specifications, drawings).
• Identify nonconforming materials/parts and ensure suitable control including appropriate corrective measures.
• Supply vendors with corrective and preventive action reports when necessary.
• Employ statistical process control techniques and conduct analysis of data.
• Liaise with other departments including Manufacturing, Operations, Reliability, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
• Assist with performing product and process audits internally and with vendors.
• Communicate vendor performance and coordinate vendor corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure inspection and test equipment is suitable for use.
• Communicate departmental performance and engage relevant stakeholders with improvement initiatives.
• Ensure measuring and test equipment is calibrated in accordance with nationally or internationally recognized standards.
• Maintain records in accordance with our established procedures which may include paper and/or electronic methods (RPM, High Side, etc.).
• Liaise with USA QC Manager to ensure objectives are consistent with our reliability, growth, and profitability targets and strategies.
• Participate with regions with lessons learned and improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will have a minimum 5 years’ experience in a quality control capacity and be familiar with operational and quality control/inspection procedures. This candidate is very organized, analytical, detail oriented and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will have the ability to read, visualize and interpret engineering drawings and bills of material and use and read common measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, etc.). They will also be familiar with the calibration process in accordance with national/international standards and have knowledge calibrating measuring tools in house using MIC TRAC 3000.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
