PV ELECTRICAL LEAD/BATTERY

 

Summary:

 

PV Electrical Lead has 3 or more years of solar install experience. This position understands all aspects of residential solar and can lead a team successfully. PV Electrical Lead is adhering to and ensuring that best practices are always employed on our installs.  Position requires proper use of ladder, adhering to OSHA regulations, being a team player, employing leadership skills, is willing and able to teach, is comfortable with heights and being on a roof. Must possess basic hand and power tools needed for the job.  Must be able to install according to Titan’s install standards while adhering to state regulations, local code and requirements, industry standards, safety protocols, and production targets. Requirements:

 

  • Ability to safely handle tools and materials such as: ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
  • Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, etc.)
  • Possess leadership skills with ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experienced installing, testing, and managing a full PV install.
  • PV electrical knowledge and understanding required.
  • Strong sense of responsibility.
  • Strong electrical knowledge always adhering to NEC codes.
  • Experienced working at heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders and stairs; and performing repetitive duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time.
  • Have basic hand tools and power tools.
  • 3 plus years of PV install experience required.
  • Full understanding of PV install process and familiarity with all PV materials required.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering the highest quality product possible.
  • Reliability and an attitude of willingness are essential.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record is a plus.
  • Able to travel as needed up to 30% of the time.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • OSHA certification a plus – Conscientious about safety, knowledge of OSHA standards, and use of safety equipment as required by management.
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Report daily to warehouse. Review plans and ensure all needed materials for install are on cart/trailer.
  • Know and understand how to read blueprints.
  • Familiar with all PV materials used.
  • Order materials using our system to create pick tickets for trailer stock.
  • Complete quarterly inventory counts for trailer stock as directed by Warehouse Manager.
  • Install PV boxes, tie in system, test system while ensuring PV boxes are installed according to Titan’s standards. 
  • Be knowledgeable of local code and requirements as applied to PV solar installation.
  •  Successfully install, troubleshoot, and test battery on 2 or more most installed batteries at Titan.
  •  Continued education on battery platforms and pursue certifications as technology changes.  
  • Be willing and able to teach, coach and mentor on 2 or more battery platforms.
  • Ensure Roof Lead is cross trained with you on electrical, updating jobs, reporting processes and daily safety plan to ensure daily production.
  • Has full understanding of the PV Install process with ability to teach and mentor.
  • Know and be willing to teach others how to bend EMT without causing roof damage.
  • Know and be willing to teach others how to install PV systems properly and safely.
  • Know and understand as well as be willing to teach others how to create layout changes onsite.
  • Mentor and train teammates. Ensure team is productive and efficient on all installs.
  • Evaluate team skills and willingness. Report as appropriate to Field Supervisor.
  • Work closely with Field Supervisor to ensure best practices, escalate questions, and report team cohesiveness and productivity levels.
  • Support your team in any way possible on the job site.
  • Know and understand how to call in needed layout changes to our Design team while onsite.
  • Collaborate with Roof Lead to ensure high quality, safety and efficiency are always employed.
  • Know and be willing to teach proper techniques for working on roof tops of all kinds without causing damage or safety hazards.
  • Exercise social etiquette and ensure team is doing the same while on job site and treat home like it is your favorite relative’s house.
  • Customer service and communication skills needed. Interact with homeowners daily in a professional manner.
  • Ensure team members are wearing Titan attire daily and are presentable.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem solving as needed for install related situations.
  • Know and be familiar with Titan’s reporting process in the event of accident or injury.
  • Keep job site clean and leave job site clean daily.
  • Maintain work vehicle as if it is your own. Remove trash daily.
  • Complete safety trainings provided by Titan and actively practice safety throughout each day.
  • Maintain assigned safety gear and report faulty equipment to safety as needed.
