JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the materials management function relating to the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products to meet company objectives and customer requirements. Directing and administering Purchasing, Production Control, Inventory Control, Shipping and Receiving, Customer Contact, and Material Stores. Review, record and enter manufacturing production data into the MRP system.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges.
· Ensures proper contact with customers relating to releases and deliveries.
· Oversees the purchasing and/or contracting for materials, supplies, equipment, and services for the operation of the Company, in addition to all inventory items. Confers with requesting parties when specific sources are requested. Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages, however caused.
· Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery.
· Keeps abreast of materials and pricing trends that affect Company products.
· Working with the production planning department, planning material needs to support demands.
· Create, submit, and expedite purchase orders.
· Oversee, direct, and participate in sub level production planning.
· Maintain inventory count accuracy, both physical and digital.
· Provide reports and other information to the operations, and sales management teams.
· Provide purchasing support for new product development, line extensions, and process optimization.
· Procurement of materials and components required for production and manufacturing support including identifying & evaluating new vendors.
· Working within our production planning department, plan material needs to support the demands of manufacturing and provide daily feedback on any items of concern that would impact production schedules.
· Performs all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS in materials management, business management or related discipline (Associate’s Degree may be considered based on experience).
- ·5 years purchasing experience.
- Experience working with inventory management software and forecasting strategies
- Product and inventory management certification a plus
- Experience in manufacturing environment.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
