- Developing and implementing purchasing strategies for raw material sourcing ad negotiations.
- Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising stockroom staff, and allocating tasks.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
- Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
- Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs and sourcing spare parts.
- Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Preparing cost estimates, managing budgets, and working on other tasks as needed for the job.
- Working to improve purchasing systems and processes as well as the development and management of the inventory management system.
- Training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.
Purchasing Specialist Requirements:
- Degree in business administration supply chain management, or logistics.
- Analytical mindset and ready to learn and work on different applications.
- Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
