Purchasing Intern

Essential duties and Responsibilities:

• On the field training with retail merchandisers throughout the supply chain
• Analyze internal product transfer process and assist with day to day functions
• Analyze processes, recommend improvements, and work with the team to implement changes
• Generate accurate purchase orders / variance purchase orders and distribute them within standard time frames
• Manage replenishment stocks within the supply chain
• Participate with purchasing associates in negotiating prices, terms and rebates with suppliers.
• Assist in obtaining POD’S and BOL’s from the plants to assist export team
• Coordinate and negotiate freight for plant pickups with 3rd party logistics

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Experience with business process analysis and documentation
• Great organizational skills, attention to detail and follow thru
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Microsoft Office experience; intermediate in Excel
• Bilingual candidates are desired but not required (English and Spanish)
