POSITION SUMMARY

This role is responsible for being the primary point of contact between plant operations/scheduling and suppliers within the Meat Procurement division of the Supply Chain organization. This position is responsible for the tactical sourcing process reporting to the DVP of Meat Procurement. Daily activities include execute weekly sourcing plans, change order requests, claims management /resolution, accounts payable issues and quality and service management. Responsibilities include providing procurement function support for market and industry analysis, supplier research and review, sourcing events, bid analysis and contracting. The scope of this position also includes ongoing supply management as a result of sourcing activities to ensure the most effective supply base design and capabilities for Bar-S Foods and CFG America. These optimized sourcing activities will support the delivery of specific productivity and cash flow targets in alignment with overarching goals and objectives. This role may support the execution of risk management and sourcing contingency strategies. This position will interact with Materials, Support and Product Management to communicate timing and availability for key materials. This role will manage various transactional activities related to systems and processes, and is responsible for learning, understanding, and following all Bar-S and Business Unit policies, in addition to all Procurement policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Manage change orders to align supply and/or demand changes and assure changes are aligned with current supply strategies.
  • Compile and track information for quality and service attributes, disperse information to internal stakeholders and suppliers and develop and execute action plans to address exceptions.
  • Manage the claims process to expedite resolution and corrective actions while communicating with the appropriate stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Manage accounts payables to assure payment is made according to payment terms, investigate, and resolve exceptions.
  • Responsible for creating system purchase order.
  • Coordinate delivery of test product from suppliers to corporate and plants
  • Develop and execute weekly orders according to supply and contracted volumes.
  • Support sourcing strategies with market and industry analysis, supplier research and review, sourcing events, bid analysis and contracting.
  • Execute appropriate supply base design with total cost of ownership (TCO) emphasis reflecting the goals/objectives of meat procurement and overall company.
  • Responsible for individual goal setting and achievement
  • Communicate to key stakeholders any changes in the supply or demand.
  • Manage new supplier/product process and system set up.
  • Support productivity, cash flow and innovation projects initiated by procurement, R&D.
  • Develop and present optimization opportunities to gain alignment on project prioritization and execution.
  • Support supplier relationship management activities, including contract and purchase order management, key performance indicators (KPI’s), scorecards, issue resolution, and business reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field required.
  • Two (2) years of experience in meat/poultry buying, materials management or similar position(s)
  • Two (2) years’ years of experience in the meat/poultry industry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITITES (KSA’s)

  • Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to self-motivate and possess independent problem solving.
  • Project management skills
  • Proficient knowledge and demonstrated use of SAP or like system and ability to access quickly and efficiently, extract, and present data.
  • Good general organizational skills

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Remote, with preference of location in Phoenix, AZ
  • May Travel up to 10%

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.

COMPENSATION

· This position is eligible for an incentive bonus, based on the achievements of company targets and individual performance expectations.
