PURCHASING ASSISTANT – JEFFERSON CITY, MO

Job Description: Creating purchasing orders and quotes for procuring company goods and services. Researching and communicating with vendors/suppliers to find the best goods and services for the company. Maintaining a digital database of purchase orders, quote requests, vendor, or supplier contracts, and updating it as needed. Establishing and developing good working relationships with vendors and suppliers. Review all purchase-related documents for errors before it is sent to the accounting department. Assist with tracking and maintaining the status of orders and reporting any delivery issues to the affected Order Entry Team. Responding to emergency requests and expediting orders as needed. Creating reports for management.
Ideal Experience: Interest or experience in and around building materials or marine/dock construction. Interest or experience in procurement, vendor relationships and/or purchasing. Willingness to learn inventory management software. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must have negotiation skills and strong communication skills - both written and verbal. Exceptional attention to detail/organization.
