Purchasing Agent

As a leading manufacturer of vacuum pneumatic conveying and Vacuum systems, VAC-U-MAX specializes in the design and manufacture of pneumatic systems.

We are currently seeking a Purchasing Agent/Buyer to support the Senior Buyer in all purchasing needs of our company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Primary backup to Senior Buyer
• Support other Buyers & Production Planners
• Review and analyze raw material components and replenishment levels in the system to meet specific requirements such as deadlines and prevent stock shortages
• Monitor and update lead times.
• Evaluate/meet with suppliers as necessary with Senior Buyer.
• Propose strategies to mitigate supply chain issues.
• Daily review of late purchase orders.
• Daily review of inbound/expected purchase orders, identifying foreseeable issues and preemptively contacting vendors.
• Coordinate return/replacement of non-conforming materials with suppliers; expedite credit process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of purchasing concepts and principles including the ability to research and analyze lead times, terms and quotes.
• GED or High School Diploma
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, specifically Epicor ERP, a plus
• Minimum two to three years experience in manufacturing industry
• Proficient in MS word and excel
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills with a sharp attention to detail and be a solution driven individual with the ability to solve problems.
