Job Description: Buyer/Purchasing Agent will assist in overseeing the purchasing of parts, supplies, equipment, and services. This position is responsible for implementing purchasing strategies, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and tracking supplier performance. The ideal candidate has experience in the Defense Manufacturing, excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, as well as a strong understanding of supply chain management.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost savings, quality, and delivery of parts and services.
* Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure the best pricing and terms.
* Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contractual obligations
* Expedite to ensure schedules are met.
* Send and monitor quotes, assist with cost analysis reports.
* Serve as liaison with Operations, Quality Assurance and Vendors to identify defective goods and determine Corrective Actions.
* Ensure that the organization"s purchasing policies and procedures are followed.
* Track and analyze data to identify trends and recommend purchasing strategies.
* Manage supplier relationships to ensure that all parties' needs are met.
* Assist in maintaining an accurate database of suppliers and their activities.
* Research potential vendors and products to identify cost-effective solutions.
* Prepare and review purchase orders, invoices, and other documents.
* Work in a team environment, with daily exchanges with Engineering and Production
* Development of new suppliers and subcontractors.
Requirements/Qualifications:
* Bachelor"s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
* 5+ years of experience in purchasing role.
* Knowledge of purchasing regulations and DOD (Department of Defense) compliance requirements and flow downs.
* Knowledge of Manufacturing purchasing in both electronics and metal works.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Able to work independently and manage multiple projects.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Experience in Defense Manufacturing purchasing.
* Strong working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
United States Citizen or Permanent Resident required.
