Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Agent located at the Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, FL. This fulltime position arranges third party calibration and repair services for the Laboratory Support Service and Operations II (LASSO II) contract’s Calibration Laboratory. Work will primarily be performed onsite at the Kennedy Space Center. Limited telework may be available at the discretion of management.
JOB DETAILS
The ideal candidate is an experienced Purchasing Agent who interfaces with our calibration team to request calibration and repair services of precision measuring devices. This is a fulltime position and work will be performed onsite at the Kennedy Space Center.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
- 2 years of related experience for the Purchasing Agent position or 7 years related experience for the Senior Purchasing Agent Position
- Working knowledge of CostPoint
- Working knowledge of NASA FAR requirements
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects without missing deadlines or sacrificing accuracy.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Excellent communication, presentation and customer interface skills
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment
- Must be self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, and be able to work independently or with minimal supervision
- Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint.

- Obtain quotes for calibration and repair services
- Select vendor and process shipper
- Monitor vendor performance
- Reconcile documentation
- Work on other projects as assigned
