OVERVIEW

BMWC is an Industrial Construction company seeking an experienced administrator to acquire, purchase, and negotiate materials, equipment, and services from suppliers and ensure the lowest cost consistent with the quality requirements, reliability of the source, and the urgency of the need. You will be part of a top-performing procurement team and report to an experienced Purchasing Manager. This highly visible position regularly interacts with project managers, site supervisors, and company operations leaders. Come learn from the best! (This role is an onsite position.)
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Purchasing Administrator, you will:
- Apply concepts, practices, and established procedures within the department.
- Rely on experience, instruction, and pre-established guidelines to accomplish job function.
- Receive requisitions for materials, selects vendor based on criteria pertinent to the purchase, enters and processes purchase order in COINS system.
- Evaluate requisitions and proposals from vendors to negotiate contracts.
- Review opportunities for new supply sources consistent with BMWC criteria
- Review field purchase orders for completeness and accuracy and enters to COINS system.
- Perform vendor follow-up for pricing of purchase orders.
- Manage the purchasing of General and Administrative items including office supplies and maintenance agreements.
- Support project duties and expedites specialty equipment and materials as necessary.
- Oversee purchasing logs and records to ensure accuracy and follow through.
- Process returns of excess materials by securing return approval from supplier and arranging for transport as necessary.
- Solicit, tabulate, and summarize materials costs from quantity takeoff.
- Be responsible for accurate and timely data entry and records management in designated systems.
- Ensure data retention and information systems are updated and maintained appropriately within defined protocols and standards.
- Understand and perform duties within defined authority; decision-making and purchases are within predefined standards.
- Support Accounts Payable in resolving discrepancies with vendors.
- Enhance knowledge of the industry and develop business contacts through participation in industry organizations and continuing education.
- Performs, with care, any control-related activities required as a function of the position.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates Degree in Business, or equivalent
- Entry level or up to 3 years of data entry experience
