WHAT YOULL DO
As the Public Relations Manager you will be responsible for creating and implementing PR strategies that enhance the Rio's reputation and to build strong relationships with property leaders, partners, media, and the public. This role involves overseeing communications strategies, managing media relations, managing critical reputation situations, and crafting compelling stories to promote the resort.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Public Relations Strategy: Develop and execute Public Relations strategies that align with the resort's goals and brand identity.
- Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets, journalists, and influencers. Pitch stories and secure media coverage for the resort.
- Crisis Management: Develop crisis communication plans and serve as the point of contact during resort-related emergencies or incidents.
- Press Releases: Write, edit, and distribute press releases, news articles, and other media materials to promote the resort's news, events, and achievements.
- Event Management: Coordinate press conferences, media events, and FAM tours to showcase the resort's offerings.
- Community Engagement: Establish and nurture relationships with the local community, government officials, and relevant organizations.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all communication materials and messaging align with the resort's brand guidelines.
- Analytics and Reporting: Analyze PR efforts, track key performance indicators, and provide regular media reports to the management team.
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Public Relations, preferably in the hospitality or resort industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
- Crisis management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Proficiency in using Public Relations software and tools (Cision).
- Deep understanding of social, community and digital PR strategies.
- 5 years experience in Community or Public Relations.
- Experience working in hospitality, casino, entertainment or similar related fields.
- Experience in crisis communication and reputation management.
- Familiarity with event planning and execution.
- Experience in crisis communication and reputation management.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills, if relevant to the resort's guest demographic.
- Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
- Must regularly lift and/move up to 10 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
