ABOUT THIS JOB
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Public Relations, the Public Relations Associate supports BOLD's PR Program, which works to promote multiple B2C brands in the US and internationally, through strategic tracking, research, organization, and measurement of new and ongoing press initiatives. The analyst supports the PR team's efforts to foster a positive public image and increase awareness of BOLD brands.
ABOUT THIS TEAM
The Digital PR team is growing! Sitting in our Corporate Communications Department and nested in the Marketing Organization, the Digital PR team works to raise brand awareness of BOLD brands in the media. We collaborate with top-notch Social Media, Content, SEO, and Customer Service teams to amplify our brands' online public presence through earned media in the US and globally.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Research, identify, and document press activity, such as when brands are mentioned in press outlets such as Forbes, CNBC, Business Insider, among others on a daily basis
- Thoughtfully and strategically conduct research around pitch topics to identify new reporters and outlets for the team to contact
- Maintains reporter database through regular updates, creating customized media lists of targeted database contacts tailored to each pitch and press announcement
- Provide research support to the PR team on a range of projects and perform other Public Relations duties as necessary
- Conduct outlet and reporter research to ensure press releases, pitches, and announcements are reaching the most current and relevant reporters and outlets as possible
- Analyze metrics and provide weekly recaps and monthly metrics assessments
- Generates and maintains an organized suite of PR documents used throughout the year for tracking and planning
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- 3+ years of related research or data experience
- A bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or a relevant field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as flawless grammar, in the English language
- Must have amazing organizational skills, A+ attention to detail, and ability to multitask
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to think strategically and navigate ambiguity
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
WHAT'S GOOD TO HAVE
- Background or familiarity with Public Relations
- Knowledge of Vocus/CISION or other PR software platforms
- An understanding of job search, career, and job market-related trends and issues
