PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER
Louisville Metro Housing Authority’s (LMHA) mission is to set a standard of operational excellence in providing quality, affordable housing opportunities for residents to achieve self-sufficiency and an enhanced quality of life, and collaborating with community partners to build strong, viable neighborhoods. LMHA serves over 15,000 households in Louisville through public housing and housing choice vouchers.
The position is responsible for coordinating public relations activities with the media and the public, and the development of communications plans and drafting of materials. Coordinates the responses for sizable and complex open records requests.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or a related field. Three (3) years of community or public relations, public speaking, speech or news writing, marketing or social media experience. Two (2) or more years work experience in public records, records management, records compliance or legal environment required. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted.
