Job Description:
The Tennessee Department of Health’s Division of Family Health and Wellness is hiring a Program Manager for the Tennessee Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program (TAPPP). This position will work as part of the team to oversee aspects of the Department of Health and Human Services Title V Sexual Risk Avoidance Education Program (SRAE).
Responsibilities include:
- Provide essential support, including answering programmatic questions and providing technical assistance to sub-grantees across Tennessee who participate in the program
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of program initiatives focusing on health equity.
- Conduct regular meetings with sub-recipients and staff
- Communicate the program procedures and projects to staff and partners
- Review, produce, and disseminate data-driven, evidence-informed and equitable resources
- Monitor trends in program uptake with a focus on serving disproportionately burdened populations
- Assist the Program Director with aspects of grant management, including monitoring, reporting, etc.
- Participate in the development, execution, and monitoring of contracts
- Perform other related duties as required
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and at least three years experience working in Public Health.
- Substitution of Experience or Education: Additional graduate coursework in a business or health-related field may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Additional qualifying professional experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
The preferred candidate will have:
- Strong written and oral communication skills (grant/report writing, presentations)
- Experience implementing evidence-informed strategies
- Experience with evaluation and continuous quality improvement
- Experience conducting trainings
- Experience with health-focused community outreach
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Public health experience with a background in social work, community health, community outreach, etc.
- Reliable internet access
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $23.99 - $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
