Public Health Nutritionist At Shiprock , Nm

• The Contractor shall perform outpatient and inpatient (if desired) Public Health Nutritionist-registered dietitian duties and manage patient's needs as described in the (PD), identified by the Service Unit and as directed by Supervisor.
• The Contractor shall perform in accordance with the competency standards listed in the Shiprock Service Unit Medical Staff By-Laws.
• The Contractor shall provide professional Public Health Nutritionist-registered dietitian services in the delivery of direct patient care to the Indian Health Service. Specific tasks include the following:
  • Contractor shall exercise and have knowledge of medical nutrition therapy to outpatients and rarely the inpatient department.
  • Priority for selection shall be given to contractors who can experience in diabetes education.
  • There are 8 members of the Health Education Center that form a diabetes education team to include CDE RN's, pharmacist, vision tech and exercise tech. Overall, contractor would work with this team as well as the physician(s) and/or physician assistants/NP's in the outpatient clinic team.
  • The Outpatient Clinic includes same-day and continuity care clinics. The contractor would see between 6-10 outpatients per day.
  • Inpatient work is rare bul at times could include basic diabetes education to a patient who is being discharged if the inpatient dietician is unavailable.
  • Contractor shall provide consultation with members of the Internal Medicine or Family Medicine staff on matters on patient care.
  • Contractor shall review clinical records and adhere to records documentation procedures to insure that records are properly maintained.
  • Contactor may be subject to technical direction and/or guidance of the designated Government official.
  • Contractor's provision of registered dietitian care shall be monitored by the Medical Center's quality assurance plan.

Experience. Registered Dietician license is required.

Motor Vehicle Operator's License. If required by the position, the Contractor shall possess a valid state driver's license throughout the term of this contract.
