The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden has been recognized as one of the most beautiful display gardens in America. It has 17 major gardens, 29 smaller ones, and 2 signature gardens throughout its 66 acres. These are A Tasteful Place, a fruit, herb, and vegetable teaching garden and The Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden, an 8-acre outdoor science museum teaching life and earth science principles in an engaging way. As the number one rated visitor destination in Dallas by Trip Advisor, it is known for 5 seasonal color change outs, enabling the garden to have year-round color. The garden has a budget of $22 million, average visitation of over a million guests a year, and a membership base of over 45,000.
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a motivated and high-energy Event Facilitator to be the professional liaison for the Public Events team during various Dallas Arboretum garden events. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to use your hospitality skills during our special events, concerts, and elegant dinners & receptions, amongst other Public Events. This position will be under the direction of the Director of Public Events and the Public Events Managers. The ideal candidate will perform as staff liaison for satisfactory execution of each event, including overseeing all aspects related to the event and monitoring use and care of Dallas Arboretum property as well as ensuring successful guest relations.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work a flexible schedule (days, weekends & evenings/late evenings, according to event needs)
- Schedules are typically available one month in advance.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School education or equivalent
- Event execution experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and holidays
