The Public Assistance Junior Grant Coordinators will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the Request for Public Assistance process, Risk Assessment preparation, and Reimbursement process for FEMA declared disasters.
  • Working closely with Subrecipients to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state guidelines of federal awarded Public Assistance grants.
  • Performing analytical procedures on documentation provided by the clients to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Maintaining effective communications with assigned Subrecipients, federal and state representatives to manage federal awarded grants.
  • Performing ongoing compliance monitoring procedures on project worksheets.
  • Aiding the retention of all relevant documents, compliance metrics, and the preparation of required reports.
  • Contributing to process improvements and innovations.

What HORNE Is Looking For…

  • 1 year of experience with FEMA Public Assistance is preferred
  • Familiarity with FEMA PA project worksheets (PWs) & process.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Outstanding ability to read, interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Effective research capabilities.
  • Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Word, Projects, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
