Summary:

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Public Affairs Officer with a focus on Security Management to join our dynamic team. As a Public Affairs Officer, you will play a crucial role in shaping and maintaining the public image of our organization while concurrently providing expert support in security management. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of public relations, communication strategies, and security protocols.

 


Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive Public Affairs strategies to enhance the organization's public image and reputation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries from journalists and other stakeholders.
  • Create compelling and informative press releases, articles, and other materials to disseminate information to the public.
  • Collaborate with security teams to develop and implement security policies and procedures to safeguard organizational assets.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for improving security measures.
  • Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for staff to ensure a proactive security culture within the organization.
  • Act as a key spokesperson during security incidents, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage communication effectively.
  • Develop crisis communication plans and protocols to ensure a coordinated and timely response to potential threats.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with media outlets, influencers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, law enforcement, and government agencies to ensure alignment of Public Affairs and security efforts.
  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and relevant authorities to address security concerns.
  • Must stay in role during all scenario events.

 

 


Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to security and Public Affairs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to effectively carry out all contract requirements.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 24 months prior experiences served as a Public Affairs Officer (PAO) as a member of the Department of State(DoS) assigned to a U.S. Embassy within the AFRICOM AOR for the purpose of managing information related to the U.S. Mission.in their respective country.
  • Deep academic understanding of or operational experience in the AFRICOM Area of Responsibility (AOR).
  • Ability to pass a National Intelligence Agency Check (NIAC) or other security screenings.
  • Active SECRET clearance.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Security Management, or a related field.
