Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Physical Therapist, the PTA assists in developing and implementing a progressive rehabilitation program for clients in facilities in accordance with the principles and practices of physical therapy and the client's needs. Serves as case manager and supervises home health aides and physical therapy assistants when appropriate.
• Meets the goals and needs of the program and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
• Helps patient accomplish treatment plan and accept therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities and in using assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
Job Requirements:
We are currently seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant certified in the State of West Virginia for placement at a local nursing home. One year of experience in the field is required, with geriatric / senior experience preferred. Scheduling needs are determined by the facility and may possibly include weekends and holidays.
