Psychometrics Internship

Why join Pearson’s intern program?

Pearson is offering an 8-week internship in the summer of 2024 for two doctoral students with outstanding psychometric skills who wish to gain experience in large-scale educational assessment. The internship will include hands-on experience working with operational K–12 assessments. Specific activities may include various aspects of assessment development, item analysis, standard setting, and technical reporting.

Internship Goals

Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with a team of Pearson research scientists to:

  1. Gain applied experience on many of the tasks involved in supporting an operational K–12 assessment contract;

  2. Enhance understanding of ways to collaborate and communicate about educational measurement.

What Does the Internship Program Offer?

DATES: The 8-week internship will take place in the June-August timeframe. There is flexibility within the 8-week block, but interns should be prepared to commit to the complete 8-week term in a full-time capacity.

LOCATION: Virtual / Remote Set-up

AWARD: The award includes a $2,250/bi-weekly (Stipend)

Minimum Requirements

  • Interns should be currently enrolled in a doctoral program in educational measurement, educational statistics, educational psychology, or a similar program.

  • At least two years of doctoral-level coursework must be completed prior to the summer of 2024

  • Interns should have strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Pearson summer interns may not participate in other summer internship or externship programs concurrently.

  • Internship awards will be announced by March 29, 2024.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. As required by the Colorado and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

Award for this role is $9000 or $2,250/bi-weekly ( stipend)
