General Description and Classification Standards
Conducts psychological assessments and evaluations (intake assessments) for prisoners in the corrections or court system. Recommends specialized treatment and wellness resources. Recommends communication needed with the family or other appropriate City personnel.
This is an experienced, professional level capable of carrying out most assignments typical of the profession with limited guidance or review. This level would be considered a promotional level and attainable by any incumbents in a work group who demonstrate the necessary knowledge, ability, and performance. Could be the only professional in this specialty in a work group.
Supervision Received
Performs work under general supervision with review and advice from manager or a senior level professional.

Conducts psychological assessments and evaluations (intake assessments) for prisoners in the corrections or court system.
Recommends specialized treatment and wellness resources. Recommends communication needed with the family or other appropriate City personnel.
May administer short or long term therapy or provide referral for therapy.
Administers, scores, processes and interprets psychological tests for applicants and employees.
Assists in managing City's Employee Assistance Program.
Monitors substance abuse policy to protect the City from liability and reports non-compliance.
Provides organizational interventions.
Conducts employee or supervisor training and crisis response.
Decision Making
Selects from multiple procedures and methods to accomplish tasks.
Leadership Provided
Serves as a technical resource or mentor to other employees. May supervise less experienced personnel.
