Job Summary:
About you:
As a child/adolescent psychiatrist, you will work within a primary care-based setting using traditional and integrated models for optimal patient access and collaboration of care. You will use tools such as electronic consultation and virtual visits to help improve patient access to psychiatric care in a primary care-based setting.
• Full-time is considered 0.75-1.0 FTE; patient contact hours adjust accordingly
• 90-minute for intakes
• 30-minutes for follow-ups
• Dedicated time for e-consults
• Dedicated administrative time
In collaboration with a team of psychiatry providers located at several primary care clinics throughout the metro, you will serve a local population. This role will be located at Allina Health's new specialty center located in Lakeville, Minnesota. This location will be adding two psychiatrists for the opening in fall of 2023.

Principle Responsibilities
- Direct patient care.
- Provides psychiatric services for children and adolescents.
- Reviews patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
- Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
- Provides education, consultation or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families.
- Works collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.
- Practices in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.
- Charts in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope.
- Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
- May provide care in an ambulatory clinic, inpatient or outpatient hospital setting.
- May participate in on-call rotation.
- Provides psychiatric services to a diverse population.
- Provides direct clinical care in psychiatry, including brief assessments and interventions.
- Develops behaviorally-focused, outcomes-based treatment plans of care that address mental health, functional impairment, and co-occurring addictive or medical disorders.
- Engages the patient and family to develop treatment plans that address identified goals.
- Develops and lead staff education in psychiatric issues.
- Participates in relevant and ongoing professional training.
- Consults with providers to assist with ongoing management of the behavioral health needs of their patients.
- Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or work flows.
- May participate in peer review and quality assurance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine required
- Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in psychiatry required
- Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required and of demonstrated experience in designated specialty area upon hire
- ACLS-BLS Tier 3 - Multisource required upon hire
- Licensed Physician - WI upon hire required
- Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate upon hire required
- Prescription Monitoring Program upon hire required
- National Provider Identifier upon hire required
