Roots Behavioral Health, an Austin-based Hightop Health practice, provides life-changing mental healthcare for patients—not the “checking-the-box” kind of care that produces less-than-ideal outcomes. Founded in 2016 by Brent Turnipseed, MD, Roots specializes in holistic psychiatry and brain health, providing innovative treatments such as Ketamine Therapy and Medical Cannabis.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients
- Diagnose and treat mental illnesses and disorders
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients
- Prescribe medication and monitor its effectiveness
- Provide therapy to individuals, couples, families, or groups
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- TMS, Ketamine Treatments are both offered at this site!
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities
- Excellent diagnostic skills and ability to develop effective treatment plans
- Proficient in conducting therapy sessions using evidence-based approaches
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients and their families
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
As a Psychiatrist, you will play a crucial role in providing mental health care to patients. Your responsibilities will include conducting evaluations, diagnosing mental illnesses, developing treatment plans, prescribing medication, and providing therapy. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for your patients. Strong diagnostic skills, knowledge of psychiatric disorders, and proficiency in therapy techniques are essential for success in this role. Effective communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail are also important for maintaining accurate patient records.

Pay: $275,000.00 - $325,000.00 per year
