PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations and physical exams, prescribing psychiatric and general health medications for residents. Provide MAT services for residents with a diagnosis of Opioid Use Disorder including prescribing appropriate MAT medications OR collaborate with a MAT provider in overseeing residents who are participating in a community MAT program. Conduct educational groups on a variety of health and wellness topics, specifically HIV/TB/STDs. Conduct rapid HIV testing for residents who option for testing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Oversee the psychiatric and general medical needs of program residents and their children.
- Supervise program practices for the self-administration of medications by residents in the program.
- Supervise the administration of all prescription drugs and/or other medical procedures in accordance with the Mississippi Nursing Practice Law and Rules and Regulations.
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations to assess mental health needs.
- Prescribe psychiatric medications as needed to address resident’s mental health symptoms.
- Evaluate residents with Opioid Use Disorder for MAT services and provide medication and counseling services as needed OR collaborate with a MAT provider in overseeing residents in a MAT program.
- Monitor medication logs and medication storage for residents and their children.
- Conduct rapid HIV testing and provide pre-test and post-test counseling.
- Provide ongoing educational groups on topics related to health; one monthly groups focusing on HIV/TB/STDs.
- Maintain professional credentials.
- Maintaining confidentiality of all treatment issues.
- All other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Must be certified to provide MAT services OR able to collaborate with a community MAT provider.
- Dual certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner is a plus.

L ICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Valid Mississippi Driver’s license and driving record that will not incur increased insurance rates.
- Must hold a current license as a Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.

- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Must be physically and emotionally capable of performing all functions of the job
