Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a Psychiatric Emergency Clinician 3 to join our team of behavioral health professionals supporting our Behavioral Health Services Team in Merrifield and our Fairfax Emergency Department. This role is full time and will work 4 10-hour shifts (days) and will utilize a integrated approach towards patient outcomes maintaining a therapeutic milieu to provide a safe environment for crisis stabilization.

Job Responsibilities
- Provides psychiatric/substance abuse consults to patients that present to the emergency room, Healthplexes, urgent care and or IPAC walk-in clinic. Assesses needs and formulates collaborative treatment recommendations.
- Makes recommendations for the next level of care for patients. Presents case to on call physician for admission. Participates in TDO hearings.
- Manages central access work/bed flow and provides consultation on cases prior to escalating to AOC. Updates bed registry. Updates capacity report, and all data spread sheets.
- Works on staffing when call outs happen and provides on call coverage on a rotation basis,
- Ensures improvements in practice setting by assuming responsibility for self-development in lifelong learning. Provides supervision towards licensing
Requirements:
- A minimum of 4 years working in psychiatric or mental health field with the seriously mentally ill. Prior Supervisory Experience is Preferred
- Masters of Social Work (MSW); Masters in Counseling or PsyD; PHD in a Clinical Psychology/Counseling.
- Active Licensure in Virginia as an LCSW, LPC, PsyD or PhD.
- BLS Certification by the American Heart Association upon hire
