Intensive Specialty Hospital is a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital. We provide cardiopulmonary care, ventilator and respiratory care, complex wound care, rehabilitation therapies, addiction medicine program, geriatric psychiatry program, multidisciplinary pain program, and outpatient counseling program. With four locations in Shreveport and Bossier City, we will be the largest provider of LTAC services in Northwest Louisiana.

The Psych Registered Nurse (RN) functions as a health care team member. The Psych Registered Nurse (RN) contributes to the assessment of the health status of individuals and groups, participates in the development and modification of the plans of care, implements care strategies within the Psych Registered Nurse (RN) scope of practice, renders safe care, participates in the evaluation of responses to care interventions, delegates activities within the Psych Registered Nurse (RN) scope of practice, and performs additional functions for which the Psych Registered Nurse (RN) has been trained within the professional scope of practice.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize nursing knowledge and skills in the safe delivery of patient care through data gathering, planning, and evaluation.
- Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served.
- Maintain and coordinate communication effectively and professionally with all patients/significant others, staff, and physicians to ensure a quality patient experience.
- Maintain patient files, records, and other information in a professional manner following policies and procedures regarding documentation
- Adapts to rapid change in a positive manner throughout the day as needs of the unit/department change.
- 50 minutes per day of group therapy at 2:00pm
- Group Notes Documentation
- Nursing Assessments on new admits
- Medication / Lab assistance
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical/vocational nursing
- Must hold a current state or compact state license and must maintain license renewal in accordance with the standards of the State Board of Nursing
- Mental health experience preferred
- Excellent organizational skills
- Good time management skills and self-directed
- Demonstrates good judgment, good interpersonal, and delegation skills
Work Schedule:
- 15-20 hours per week
- Monday through Friday
- Around 7:00am - 3:00pm
