About this Position:
Supply Chain Human Rights specialist will coordinate and work with both internal and external stakeholders. The expectation is to improve our overall Human Rights Program as well as investigate and understand global Human Rights current and upcoming legislation. The specialist will collaborate with a third-party vendor to understand the inputs and outputs of Honda supplier data compiled by the third party. The specialist will lead discussions with suppliers on their Human Rights questionnaire and supply chain mapping. The specialist will lead all Honda NA entities' internal Human Rights strategy. The Human Rights specialist must be proficient in project management (budget & reconciliation), communication (verbal & written), and passion for furthering HDMA’s sustainability efforts.
Responsibilities include:
Manage the relationship between internal and external stakeholders
  • Engage with the NA suppliers: daily communication, data gathering, analysis, interpretation and follow-up with potential and current suppliers
  • Engage and collaborate with industry groups in the area of Human Rights
  • Coordinate internal and external training opportunities
  • Develop and execute project themes and action plans to improve current Human Rights business practices
  • Manage the HDMA Human Rights Program
Human Rights Program strategy development
  • Partner with industry groups and third party vendor on a robust Honda NA Human Rights strategy and roadmap (1-3 years)
  • Partner with all Honda NA entities to correlate and incorporate strategic needs
  • Investigate and understand global Human Rights, current and upcoming legislation, develop and propose strategy direction
  • Benchmark other companies for Human Rights programs and strategies
Responsible for developing and presenting Human Rights program results and executive monthly reports, apply PDCA where applicable
  • Monthly reporting
  • Create presentations on department accomplishments and formally present to internal and external stakeholders
  • Development and Coordination of diversity training for internal Procurement groups
  • Assist as needed to further Sustainability Unit goals and objectives
Who we are seeking:
Required Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field; if no degree 4 yrs. of application experience
Required Work Experience:
  • 2-4 years’ experience required in procurement, supply chain management, supplier sustainability or related
  • Experience in establishing internal and external relationships
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Desired skills:
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, planning, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, project management, and customer service skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Additional Position Factors:
  • Open office environment with moderate level of noise and activity.
  • Hybrid Work Style (60% office/40% remote)
  • Travel required an estimated 10% of the time (Mar-Nov)
