Are you interested in Protein Biochemistry and preparing yourself for a career in the industry? If so, Protein Science Internship in our Seeds Regulatory Science group may be the perfect opportunity for you!

In this collaborative role, you will be a part of Seeds Regulatory Science team within the Regulatory and Stewardship group of Corteva R&D. More specifically, this position supports the goal of assessing the safety of proteins expressed in biotechnology products for submission to Regulatory agencies across the globe. This is accomplished primarily by working with a team of researchers generating data in regulatory science to confirm to regulatory agencies that our products are safe for human and animal consumptions, as well as the environment.

Responsibilities - What You'll Do:

  • Work under Study Directors for regulatory protein safety studies including but not limited to quantification of proteins or metabolites in biotech products

  • Provide protein analytical support through a team of researchers to other functional groups in seeds regulatory science

  • Support team of researchers generating protein expression data in biotech products

  • Assist Q&A with regulatory agencies and support registration teams on protein analysis topics

  • Present data and conclusion to internal audience

  • Co-author scientific papers and peer review submitted papers that support registration of new traits for chemical and plant journals

  • Maintain continuous engagement with established quality management systems, programs, and auditing teams to maintain compliance of protocols and reports

Qualifications

Requirements - What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related scientific fields

  • Proven lab skills and experience in designing and performing experiments

  • Creative thinking and ability to work both independently and in team environments is critical.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, while meeting critical deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally by phone, email, and in-person with internal employees.

  • Excellent organizational skills and record keeping ability.
