We are actively seeking a dynamic and accomplished Research Scientist with expertise in both Protein Engineering and Computational Biology. In this pivotal role within our innovative research team, you will lead the design and optimization of novel recombinant protein therapeutics through advanced computational methods, alongside expertise in Protein Expression and Characterization.
Key Duties:
- Spearhead the design of groundbreaking recombinant protein therapeutics with an emphasis on Protein Engineering.
- Apply state-of-the-art computational modeling techniques, including molecular dynamics simulations, homology modeling, and docking studies.
- Utilize Protein Engineering techniques for the design and optimization of protein constructs, emphasizing expression, stability, and functionality.
- Implement site-directed mutagenesis and other molecular biology techniques to modify and enhance protein sequences.
- Develop and optimize expression systems for the production of recombinant proteins.
- Implement various purification techniques (affinity chromatography, ion exchange, size exclusion) to obtain highly pure protein samples.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies in structural biology, advocating for their integration into our research programs.
- Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations, focusing on the Protein Engineering and Computational Biology aspects.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Structural Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field, with a minimum of 3+ years of post-doctoral experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in both Protein Engineering and Computational Biology, with 2-3 years of experience in computational modeling and structural analysis.
- Proficiency in various computational tools and software used in structural biology.
- Hands-on experience with molecular dynamics simulations, homology modeling, docking studies, and structural data analysis.
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications in top-tier journals, emphasizing both Computational and Structural Biology.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proactive, hands-on attitude with the ability to work collaboratively and drive projects forward with minimal supervision.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Ability to make substantial contributions to immunotherapy drug discovery research programs, specifically in Protein Engineering.
- Stay current with advancements in Computational and Structural Biology, particularly as they relate to Protein Engineering.
- Capability to represent the research team and effectively communicate goals/deliverables to senior management.
- Experience in mentoring and/or leading scientists at various levels.
- Industry experience is highly preferred.
