Marketing / Proposal Specialist - Position Summary

Our client is a leading Architecture firm is seeking a full-time proposal writer / coordinator who has a passion to actively contribute to efforts that build key relationships with teaming partners and clients, win projects, and increase awareness of current projects.

Based in the DC area, the ideal candidate will be an outgoing self-starter who can effectively collaborate with firm colleagues at all levels along with taking initiative to proactively organize and lead the firm's efforts to respond to prospective client requests from statements of qualifications and brochures to comprehensive proposals and interviews.

The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to write with a conversational style as well as support the translation of technical content into thoughtful, compelling narratives and suitable graphics, as appropriate.

They will also effectively manage their own time and schedule in concert with those of others being able to work independently and as a member of a team, sharing in the management and coordination of proposal workload.

Proposal Specialist - Requirements

• Coordinate, write, edit and produce responses to solicitations, SOQs, RFQs, RFPs; this includes research, technical content, graphics, page layout and design.
• Ability to work with multiple firm leads to assemble materials and manage the entire proposal process from start to delivery, including adhering to all internal deadlines for drafts / reviews.
• Read and analyze solicitations, SOQs, RFQs, and RFPs plus effectively edit proposal content for spelling, grammar, consistency, and compliance with requirements.
• Prepare presentations, leave behinds and handouts for interviews with prospective clients.
• Schedule and participate in proposal strategy meetings.
• Attend pre-proposal meetings and debriefings as needed.
• Assist with other business development / marketing functions, as necessary.
• Update and maintain the marketing department's documentation and databases (i.e. resumes, project portfolios, photos, references, licenses and certifications, project history, etc.).

Proposal Specialist -Qualifications, Experience & Education

• Associate or bachelor's degree in marketing, English, communications or journalism and / or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience providing proposal and presentation coordination and marketing support in the A / E / C industry preferred.
• Experience in general business / professional / office, knowledge of A / E / C industry and RFQ process.
• Excellent project and time management skills with keen attention to detail and highly organized.
• Excellent writing and proof-reading skills. Ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines and assignments.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign) required.
